Karim Ghidinelli was born in Brescia, in northern Italy. He moved a lot during his childhood, notably to Africa. His work is based on ideas of passage, journey, and travel. Identity is a natural part of the evolutionary process of passage, and Karim Ghidinelli's distinctive imagery documents the passage of others while simultaneously assuring his own journey. His technique is a myriad of different media such as print, portrait, metal, and oil, which are collaged into rich layers. His artwork is a reflection of our contemporary daily life where the politics of identity exist at the forefront.
