In September 2018, the opening of Canada's "first street art museum" made a noise in Montreal, the country's art capital. The promise was beautiful: 24 floors invested by 24 artists and open to the public 24 hours a day... All orchestrated by a brand of alcohol. Intrigued, we went to take a closer look: visit.
We expected a remarkable building at first glance, tall and completely painted… But nothing like that awaited us on avenue de Gaspé. In this quiet artery of the Mile-End district, apartment buildings and offices huddle together to face the winter cold. No (or almost no) windows – everything is inside the buildings. (...) It is therefore here that the Romeo's museum, dedicated to street art, has slipped in, rather discreetly at first.
