We are delighted to present a FOCUS exhibition featuring the sculptural work of Coderch & Malavia, a Spanish artist duo who reimagine the human figure with both poetry and power. Collaborating as one creative voice, Joan Coderch and Javier Malavia breathe emotional depth into bronze, blending classical techniques with a contemporary sensibility.

Their sculptures capture suspended moments — subtle gestures, inward gazes, and movements poised between reality and reverie. Each piece invites quiet contemplation, offering a tender balance between strength and vulnerability, presence and stillness. Influenced by theatre, mythology, and the human condition, Coderch & Malavia place the human figure at the centre of their practice, with striking honesty and grace.

    Stillness, Strength, and Shared Vision

Coderch & Malavia’s sculptural practice revolves around the human figure — not as a mere anatomical study, but as a vessel for meaning, vulnerability, and inner strength. Working from live models and traditional bronze casting, they bring to life solitary figures frozen in thought or motion, their gestures suggesting subtle narratives of resilience and emotion.

With influences ranging from Rodin and Maillol to ballet and contemporary theatre, their work balances classical beauty with modern sensibility. The duo’s creative process — built on discipline, trust, and shared vision — reflects the very themes their sculptures explore: connection, balance, and the quiet dignity of being. Through each bronze form, they offer viewers a mirror to their own inner world.
