In 2022, invited to exhibit at the Church of San Barnaba in Bondo, Willy Verginer created The Lost Garden, placing a donkey, a deer, and a raven atop eighteenth-century candelabras, blending nature with artifice.
These artworks inspires a series where wild animals take their place among sacred objects and Baroque furniture, staging vivid scenes that question anthropocentrism. With titles like Olà kalà (“Everything is fine”) and Ubuntu, he blends lightness with ecological reflection, imagining a baroque of excess, overturned and reclaimed by the living.
