The word qualia (to pronounce / kwalia /, singular quale) comes from the Latin qualis, which means of what kind, what species, what nature.
Qualia are the properties of perception of the human experience.
Inaccessible and ineffable in the absence of a direct and personal intuition, they constitute the very essence of the experience of life and of the world.
Intrinsic or immediate, they are not relational properties, and any interpersonal comparison is impossible.
