    COLLISION: Ado, CSRK, Yoakim Bélanger
Bringing together three renowned voices from Montréal’s art scene, this collaborative series merges distinct elements of Ado, CSRK, and Yoakim Bélanger into a dynamic collective dialogue.

Drawing on signature elements from each artist’s practice, Ado’s ability to transform and shape video pictures , CSRK’s vibrant graphic interventions, and Yoakim Bélanger’s intricate line work and layered compositions, these works blur the boundaries between individual authorship and shared creation.

Rooted in the energy of the city, but transformed within the gallery space, each piece reveals an unexpected conversation between three artists whose practices have all contributed to Montréal’s contemporary art landscape.

    Yoakim Bélanger

Born in Montréal in 1977, Yoakim Bélanger develops a practice that moves fluidly between figuration and abstraction, where portraiture becomes a site of material investigation. Working primarily with oxidized steel, aluminum, and paper, he embraces surfaces shaped by time, corrosion, and intervention, allowing each work to emerge through a process of layering, removal, and reconstruction.

Rather than depicting fixed identities, Bélanger's compositions evoke memory, transformation, and the traces left by lived experience, revealing an ongoing dialogue between the human figure and the material itself.

    CSRK

Born in Montréal, CSRK develops a practice grounded in graffiti, painting, and public intervention. His work brings together bold colour, layered gestures, and graphic structures, translating the visual energy of the city into compositions that feel both immediate and carefully constructed.

Moving between the street and the studio, CSRK explores the tension between spontaneity and control. Lines, symbols, and fragments accumulate across the surface, creating works that carry the rhythm of urban space while asserting a distinct painterly language.

    ADO

Born in Montréal in 1991, Ado (Jean-Martin Gagnon) develops a practice that moves between digital image-making, painting, and film, exploring the unstable relationship between memory, technology, and representation. Drawing on the visual language of glitch aesthetics, he transforms found and obsolete imagery into layered compositions where distortion becomes a generative force rather than an error.

Working between abstraction and figuration, Ado reveals unexpected beauty in fragmentation, inviting viewers to reconsider the digital image as both archive and living material.
